The Five Star Award will be presented to those Sons of the American Legion members who show perfection in the Five Point Program of Service. It is a gold plated medal bearing the Sons of the American Legion emblem and the symbolism of the Five Points.
- PATRIOTISM - Love of the American Flag and love of our Country.
- CITIZENSHIP - Individual obligation of citizenship.
- DISCIPLINE - Respect of and obedience to laws and rules of our Nation.
- LEADERSHIP - Participation in group activities.
- LEGIONISM - Knowledge of The American Legion.
With the conclusion of each topic area, the Member will receive a seperate medal for that particular area. After the Member has completed each area of study, the Member will receive the Five Star Medal for perfection in the Sons of the American Legion work.
